The AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement offers My QI Workshops in coordination with the AAAHC's Achieving Accreditation Program in March, June, and September. To learn more AAAHC's Achieving Accreditation Program please click here Education Programs.
What is the 'My QI' Workshop? In conjunction with the Achieving Accreditation program, the AAAHC Institute for Quality Improvement, a non-profit subsidiary of the AAAHC, is offering a new educational opportunity designed to assist participants in meeting AAAHC standards related to quality improvement. The AAAHC Institute's 'My QI' workshop focuses on selecting suitable topics for QI studies, then developing/implementing the studies appropriate for those topics.
'My QI' participants work in small groups, structured by practice setting where possible. Participants are provided with a list of potential study topics for their ambulatory health care setting, and may also make their own suggestions for study topics to be discussed during the session. Experienced faculty guide participants through the processes of choosing study topics and developing and implementing studies for the topics selected.
Benefits of the 'My QI' workshop include:
- Networking and opportunities to discuss QI issues specific to particular health care settings;
- Using familiar topics to work through the mechanics of the study process in a step-by-step fashion;
- Deciding what to measure
-
Keeping the study process simple and the reporting clear
-
Using study feedback to improve quality
-
Looking at clinical performance over time
-
Problem solving in clinical performance measurement.
