AAAHC recognized for health plans on Exchanges
Qualified Health Plans may seek AAAHC accreditation to fulfill requirement
Acceptance of the AAAHC health plan accreditation program for QHPs has been announced in the Federal Register today.
Under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, an insurer must be designated as a QHP (qualified health plan) to be included in an Exchange (state or federal). Accreditation is a requirement of this designation.
AAAHC has been accrediting health plans since 1983 and has been recognized by CMS for Medicare Advantage plans since 2007.
