Charles Derus, MD, MM
Dr. Charles Derus, MD is a rheumatology specialist in Downers Grove, IL. Dr. Derus completed a residency at Rush University Medical Center and has received his medical degree from University of Minnesota Medical School and has been in practice for more than 43 years. He currently practices at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital and is the vice president of medical management. Dr. Derus is board certified in Internal Medicine.
Cheryl Pistone, RN, BSN, MA, MBA
Ms. Pistone has over 39 years’ experience in nursing, including four years as a Lieutenant in the Nurse Corp for the U.S. Navy. Ms. Pistone is currently the Clinical Director, Accreditation Services at AAAHC. Part of her job duties consists of oversight of the Complaint Management and Adverse Event Reporting process at AAAHC. Prior to that she was Director of Clinical Services for Consultants in Gastroenterology and Kansas City Internal Medicine in which she managed clinical staff over multiple sites.
Early in her career she worked as a nurse manager and critical care nurse in a large teaching hospital. Ms. Pistone received her BSN degree from the University of Tulsa, and her masters’ degrees Webster University. She has been a surveyor for AAAHC since 2009.
This activity will award 1.0 CNE credit hour. This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91)
